About Lamp Inc South West
Lamp Inc was established in August 1996. It's members consist of people living in the community with severe and persistent Mental Health Disorders, their families and carers.
Members meet regularly at a variety of social and recreational activities. In the general community and at any of the Lamp living skills/drop in support centres at Busselton, Margaret River and Bridgetown.
Lamp's aim is to promote personal independence, social well being and community inclusion for consumers. Lamp provides services to consumers within their own homes and in the general community.
Lamp Community Support Workers help to improve a range of skills for people with a mental illness, such as personal care, cooking, budgeting and other home management tasks. The aim of the support program is to enable consumers to live more independently and with confidence within the community.
Help and support also extends from the home into the community. The staff help with travelling, shopping and participation in leisure, recreational and other social activities that exist in the Busselton and surrounding communities.
The Community Support Workers liaise closely with other agencies involved in areas with other agencies involved in areas such as finance, accommodation, employment and education. Members are also encouraged to participate in courses such as stress management, self esteem and assertiveness training.
Community support workers assist clients who wish to become part of the Lamp structured living skills centre program and for carer and family referrals to the Lamp carers and family support program.
Referral to Lamp consumer services can be made through the South West Mental Health Services Offices, your GP or Private Psychologist, Psychiatrist or Counsellor or self referal with Lamp Inc by calling 9754 1834.
